"Won't You Please Stay For Christmas, Santa Claus?"  Jeff Daniels

My best friend Mike’s got a brand new bike
And he rides it day and night
When I walk to school he roars on by me
Polishin’ his light

And Johnny’s gotta Wall Mounted TV Screen
and a cell phone that sings
And this kid named Dan
He can barely stand
Underneath the weight of all that bling

Timmy’s got the brand new XBox game
And Tommy got a Paint Ball Gun
And Tammy’s got an American Girl
that she swears can tan in the sun

Now I don’t mean to sound greedy or overly needy
And I sure don’t wanna step outta line
But since it’s that time of year
How ‘bout some holiday cheer for Me, Myself, and Mine?

So won’t you please stay for Christmas, Santa Claus?
Have a plate of turkey with some cranberry sauce
We can talk about your reindeer
Or the weather at the Pole
And after pie we can sit by my Yuletide Fire
And watch the Hula Bowl

And I can pour the eggnog
And you can pop the corn
and we can read from my list
About the things that you’ve missed
On previous Christmas morns

So won’t you please stay for Christmas, Santa Claus
Pretty please
it would be-my-all-time-coolest-ever-Christmas
if you and I could shoot the breeze

Me, me, me, me
Me, me, me, me
Me, me, me, me
Meeee!

"Sir if I may say, just for the record
I’m a big fan of mistletoe
I love my neighbors more than myself
Especially when there’s lots of snow
But at the end of the year as the Big Day draws near
It’s hard to give when you don’t receive
I don’t mean to cause a panic or be overly dramatic
But this year’s the Mother of all Xmas Eves"

So I'll be stayin’ up late so I can see for myself
What the Weather Man has to say
And I’ll be crossin’ my heart and hopin’ to die
That the night’ll be as clear as day
And then I’ll run like heck into my backyard
With a flashlight in my hand
It may be cold as a bitch
But I’ll keep flickin’ my switch
So Rudolph will know where to land

So won’t you please stay for Christmas, Santa Claus?
Have a plate of turkey with some cranberry sauce
We can talk about your reindeer
Or the weather at the Pole
And after pie we can sit by my Yuletide Fire
And watch the Hula Bowl

And I can pour the eggnog
And you can pop the corn
and we can read from my list
About the things that you’ve missed
On previous Christmas morns

it would be-my-all-time-coolest-ever-Christmas
if you and I could shoot the breeze

it would be-my-all-time-coolest-ever-Christmas
if you and I . . . could shoot . . .  the breeze
